Annual Membership Meeting
Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 1 PM
Our annual membership meeting will be held in the Pincus auditorium of the Grinton I. Will Yonkers Public Library, located at 1500 Central Park Avenue. This year's special guest speaker, George Baker (featured below), will provide a performance to make history feel personal.

This one-hour presentation offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience President John Adams as a living presence. Portrayed by George Baker - an attorney with a passion for history and performance - Adams appears in period-appropriate clothing and speaks in his own voice about the challenges, convictions, and controversies of the American Revolutionary era.
|
The program skillfully blends historical narrative with music, featuring songs he plays from the Revolutionary period that deepen the audience's understanding of the era's culture and spirit.
Baker's legal background adds nuance and credibility as he explores Adams' role in shaping American independence, diplomacy, and the rule of law. The performance reflects years of refinement and has been presented across the United States, including appearances at Presidential Libraries and respected historical venues.
What makes the presentation especially engaging is its accessibility. Adams' intellect, humor, impatience, and humanity emerge clearly, inviting the audience to see him not only as a Founder, but as a determined and sometimes complicated individual navigating extraordinary times. The program concludes with a question-and-answer session, allowing audiences to interact directly with "President Adams" and explore topics of particular interest. The result is an entertaining, educational, and memorable experience well suited for lifelong learners.
We hope all members will join us for songs, stories, and the spirit of the American Revolution with a founding father brought vividly to life. The event is free. There will be drinks and refreshments made available to all who attend.
