On Thursday, August 21, from 6-8 pm, we are co-hosting an in-person screening at Will Library of the documentary on “Stockbridge: The Kingsbridge Massacre”.

The Stockbridge Massacre, also known as the Battle of Kingsbridge, or the Battle of Van Cortlandt's Woods, was a tragic event during the American Revolutionary War that occurred on August 31, 1778, in what is now Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. A unit of Stockbridge-Munsee warriors, allied with the Continental Army, were ambushed by British forces, resulting in significant casualties.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ORIGINAL LOCATION FOR THE FILM SCREENING WAS THE FLYNN ROOM AT THE LIBRARY, BUT DUE TO AN INCREASED INTEREST, IT HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE AUDITORIUM TO ACCOMMODATE A LARGER AUDIENCE.
